Accessible Installation Instructions

Accessible Installation Instructions

Read entire instructions before commencing installation.

  1. Check Aquapole accessible is 125mm longer than the ceiling to floor measurement minus 900mm.  e.g. – a standard 2.4m ceiling height needs the unit to be 1.6m high as it is mounted 900mm from the floor to the horizontal handrail.
  2. Check water supply is within temperature and pressure limits. (max 65deg) and pressure limits (max 6.5bar min .8 bar)
  3. Pole can be cut with a hacksaw if necessary (a plastic or metal sleeve can be slid over the water pipes to protect them while cutting the pole). After cutting, the tube must be filed to remove sharp edges which can damage the water pipes.
  4. Check position of unit falls within guidelines of the Building Code: - Personal hygiene section G1 page 19.
  5. Mark position of hole in ceiling. This would normally be 78mm out from the wall and 850mm out from the corner, check code as in 4.
  6. Check that fixing is available 900 above floor for wall mounts.
  7. The 40mm hole can now be drilled through the ceiling.
  8. Check that the ceiling flange is positioned on the Aquapole accessible 200mm from the top with flat surface to the top.
  9. Top of pole can be fed through ceiling and holes marked on wall for wall mounts. Take care to have main pole vertical, using a spirit level.
  10. Remove Aquapole accessible and drill holes in wall.  Mount the wall flanges with screws provided. .
  11. There are two holes in the wall flanges which need to point towards the floor. These are for grub screws to attach the shower to the flanges.
  12. The pole can now be feed through the ceiling and placed onto the wall flanges.
  13. Taking care not to let the pole fall onto the shower floor, check that the small holes on the flanges line up with the holes in the shower mounts.
  14. Tighten the four grub screws with the 2mm allen key.
  15. Access the ceiling cavity and fix the ceiling clamp to the Aquapole accessible. You may need to position and fix wood to screw the bracket to.  Attach extra wood in the ceiling carefully, preferably with screws to avoid damaging the ceiling. If possible it is desirable to have the shower location sorted at the framing stage then the ceiling fixing can be installed.
  16. The shower pipes can now be connected to the water supply.  Take care to connect correctly to hot and cold supplies.  Debris must be flushed out and water supply filtered as for any ceramic tapware. Always check with your plumber before connecting to potable water.
  17. Before turning water on, check shower valve is turned off or monitored.
  18. Push ceiling flange up Aquapole accessible to finished position.
  19. Fit the hose with the hexagonal end to the valve and tapered end to the rose. Check that a flat hose washer is on each end before doing up firmly by hand. Over tightening the shower hose can damage the shower.
